Used to be...

I am missing who I used to be. I was confident, self sufficient, independent, thin!, and fun. Now I am just a boring housewife that has no motivation to lose weight or have any fun. I do love family time, but outside of that I don't have much of a life. I don't go tanning anymore or get my nails done. And although those things are materialistic and superficial I really enjoyed them and they really made me feel good about myself. I have been working really hard on the relationships in my life, but they too seem to be suffereing. Physically and emotionally I am in quite a rut! But I have no drive to change. How do you get that push you need, when you need it??

  1. I have found myself in that rut from time to time also. It is hard to find worth in our job now. But there is so much more worth than any other job we will ever do.
Spring is a great time to help remedy your mood! Get outside everyday. Go for a walk. The kids will love it and your mood/waist will love it too! I find that I am in a much better mood if I go outside with the kids and play or walk. And I find they are in better moods too! (an added bonus)

Make yourself get out of the house once a week. Go to the park with a friend. Have some sort of a play date. You'll want to feel better about yourself if you are around others.

Get dressed every morning. Yes, there are days you don't want to, but try to. It will make you feel better. If you wear sweats everyday, you will never want to get in shape. But if you wear clothes that don't expand, you'll be more inclined to want to do something about it.

I started doing that more this year since I had to take Maddox to preschool. It helped motivate me to be more presentable most days, which, in turn, made me feel more upbeat throughout the day.

I don't claim to have the answers to your woes, but I hope any of these suggestions help. They help me when I'm down.

    Good luck.

  2. Thank you so much! I do remember doing that after Ethan was born. I definitely need to get up and get dressed more often now! and I will! He does do better when we "go!" so we try to get out a couple days a week to go somewhere.

I found you through other blogs just this weekend! Glad I found you.. ;)
