I have been trying to decide if I want to try a Vbac or have a repeat c-section this entire pregnancy. It has been a very difficult decision to make. I have asked several family members, friends, and moms on tons of pregnancy boards for advice. I took a class last week at the hospital to learn some of the risks involved with either choice. As it turns out, the risks are actually quite comparible. It is no more risky to have a Vbac then it is a C-section. The risk of uterine rupture is less then 1%. With a c-section there is risk of infection, scar tissue, and complications with future pregnancy. The recovery will be much more painful with the repeat c-section as well. BUT with all that said...
I have decided to have a repeat c-section. I decided that it would be best for my situation and my body. I had failure to progress with my labor with Ethan, which puts me at a 50% chance of success with a vbac. Which means, I could still fail and need the c-section. The risk of infection increases once I have begun labor or if my water has broken. So my decision is to schedule the c-section prior to labor. I am currently due Oct 3rd. I very much want an October baby, for many selfish reason. I plan to talk to my OB on Friday and see when he thinks would be good. I may be having her in September though, the way it looks now.
I will definitely be on here Friday letting you know how our talk goes. I want to make sure what I know, or think I know, about the c-section is correct. Discuss the date of the c-section, and some of the hospital procedures. Its a lot to think about and a lot to organize. I then, knowing the date, will have to start lining up some help for Ethan. I will be in a ton of pain and will have a longer recover then I did with Ethan. So I need to make sure I have help to take care of him and keep my house clean and our tummies full.
Hoping that I can get somethings set in stone and can relax these last 8-9 weeks!

19 month milestone... Kissing!
Ethan has started kissing! We had a birthday party for my grandpa on the 12th, and as we were leaving Grandma and Grandpa.. and GGrandma and GGrandpa were asking for kisses, and he actually did it!! I have been trying to get him to kiss for months now! And I guess he just decided it was time. Now when we ask for a kiss, he just does it! Like he's done it forever. And can I say, its the sweetest thing in the world!!!!!

Kissing a kitty on the computer! He crawled up there just to see it, and then leaned forward to give it kisses! He loves kitties!

Giving Daddy some love when he got home from work!!
No pictures with Mommy, he has slowly stopped kissing me on demand, I guess I am just not as cool as Daddy and kitties! But that's ok, the ones I do get are all that more special!

To change or NOT to change??
Devan really wants to name the baby Summer. I am not completely against it... but just love the name Kinsey! I loved Kenzie from the beginning but couldn't decide on it until I saw it spelled Kinsey.. .and then I had to have it! And it worked out great because Mom and I really wanted me to carry on Kay as the middle name.. because she and I both have Kay for ours. But Devan has loved Summer from day one.. before our daughter was a daughter!....
SOOO... what are you thoughts. Do you like Summer? Do we change it? He named Ethan, so I am not obligated to even think about changing her name. But I love my hubby, and I want him to be happy with our pick too. So what do you say???

And we have a butt...
Kinsey turned face down last night!
I could feel her moving around more then usual, she normally doesn't move hardly at all. Then this afternoon I was looking in the mirror and my stomach looked bigger and a different shape. I pushed on the big bulge cause it looked really hard and it was a butt!!! She was already head down for over a month now and I guess she decided to get in her comfy spot for the long haul... face down!! So hopefully I will get some relief in my bladder from her new position, I already feel much better!

What a day!
I started my day off with a 10 am appt to get a urine test done to check for an infection. I have been having some serious bladder pains and can't even sleep on my left side because of it. Kinsey is sitting right on my bladder and enjoys pushing on it! I have to pee all day every day just to get some relief. She enjoys doing most of her pushing at night! Good news is I do NOT have an infection. I also had a pelvic exam (these are never fun during pregnancy!!!) and that came back just fine too.
So no need to worry, its just Kinsey being a wonderful baby curled up on Mommy's bladder!
So then the doctor measured me and I was still off 2 weeks. I still have only gained a total of 8 lbs. Both have the doctor and I worried about my little girl. So he scheduled for me to go have a fetal growth sonogram. So this afternoon I went to have that one done. Fortunately for me, we are having family in town this weekend and Mom had taken the day off today. Too bad for her, I made her spend her entire day with me! (actually with Ethan, while I was at my appts alone). The sonogram went great though! Kinsey isn't small at all- in fact she was a bit bigger then my original due date. She was 2 1/2 lbs and was showing a due date of September 29th! YAY!
She has her head on my bladder, her feet in my ribs and had her hands up by her face. So cute! And I got to see her on their new 42" screen! And she is still a girl! Not fun having a scare that she may not be growing, but well worth it to see our beautiful daughter once more!
My next appt is August 1st and I will know more about the sonogram then when I can ask questions and find out what all the details were. But she looked great! So that's a relief!

Random....
Aww aren't we sweet?
Happy boy!!! :-)

2002 Ford Windstar
Our newest addition to the family.
I currently have a 2005 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab- (its a 4 door). And I LOVE my truck!! But.. I put the carseat in next to Ethan's big carseat and it just didn't really fit. We Could make it work if we wanted.. but I would really have a hard time lifting her up over his carseat and then picking him up to put in his chair. It will be much easier with him being able to climb into the van by himself and he can even climb onto the seat. So I just have to buckle him!!! Yay!

Our 4th!
We started our day at the zoo! Ethan really enjoyed this visit! He seemed to love almost every animal.
He loved this fish and flamigos the best! And then ofcourse the Lions and Monkeys.

He did ok at the petting zoo until about the 8th animal came up to him. Then he was a little upset, but I was really surprised how well he did!

He loved the Poppers! He did really well with some of the others. He wasn't a huge fan, but maybe next year! Over all we had a pretty great holiday!
